Following the success of Lazada University Masterclass 6 in March, the 7th edition kicked off with a bang on 28 July 2022 at Connexion Nexus Auditorium, Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. As the first Masterclass to offer both offline and online viewing with the tagline “Keep Learning, Start Earning”, the event saw over 1,000 attendees from all over Malaysia who are also sellers on Lazada.
The one-day event began with an opening speech by Alan Chan, the CEO of Lazada Malaysia who thanked the attendees for their endless support and dedication to Lazada. He also hoped that the attendees will benefit from Masterclass 7 to help improve their business in the long run while he and the team will strive to make Lazada a better platform for every seller.
The COO of Lazada Malaysia, Darren Rajaratnam, too graced the event with a warm speech to welcome all attendees who have made the time and effort for Masterclass 7. “It’s really nice to see everyone in the room and for us to engage again face-to-face. We really miss this over the last two years,” he stated.
Darren continued by praising and thanking the attendees for being a big part of the Lazada platform. “Masterclass 7 is a big learning opportunity, not just for the sellers but also for us to find out how to be a better platform. With the upcoming big campaigns, it sets a lot of excitement for everyone and a chance to grow their business even further. The Masterclass 7 acts as a gear for sellers to learn how to maximize sales, traffic and conversions,” he added.
The speaker lineup for Masterclass 7 includes savvy experts from Lazada, notable guest speakers such as Ian Lai of Brandtalks Asia and Maddox of Moo Baby as well as Lazada Certified Trainers. Both online and offline audience had the opportunity to gain various insights and knowledge through the event like product branding, increase traffic with minimal investment, new tool features and logistic operations – all of which were accompanied by actual case studies. There were also Q&A sessions to encourage attendees to participate and ask as many questions on the spot.
Towards the end of the event and to make things more exciting, the attendees stood a chance to win great prizes such as an iPad Pro 11, RM500 Lazada vouchers and more from a lucky draw. Furthermore, the Lazada mascot, Lazzie also made sure to make an appearance for a meet and greet at the venue with each attendee bringing home a Lazzie plush toy as souvenir.
The Masterclass 7 was indeed remarkable as the first ever offline and online event by Lazada University. Not only was it informative and a learning curve for sellers but also engaging where sellers got to interact face-to-face among sellers themselves as well as with the Lazada experts.
