Dubbed as the largest physical Masterclass ever, the most anticipated Masterclass was back with its 8th edition on 26 October 2022. Held at Nexus Connexion Conference & Event Center, Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, Masterclass 8 featured advance learning and panel sharing sessions on Low Price Assortment & Selling Strategies – aligning with its theme “How To Sell Cheap! Nice! Nice!”
Over 700 attendees who were mostly sellers on Lazada from different states in Malaysia turned up for the event. Deepavali-themed display were seen surrounded the event hall in celebration of the festival two days prior including attendees dressing up in their best Deepavali wear to liven up the ambiance.
The CEO of Lazada Malaysia, Alan Chan graced the event with a welcome note by thanking the audience for making the time and effort to attend Masterclass 8. “You’re here for one reason – to get to know each other, to learn tactics and news ideas to increase your revenue,” he said.
He continued by recapping that Lazada is known for its excellent customer service from delivery to a wide range of products available on the platform, free shipping and Masterclass. “Masterclass is our dedication of investment and time to train our sellers and partners to do better in e-commerce. Today’s session is meant to equip sellers for the upcoming 11.11 and 12.12 Mega Campaigns with valuable topics which includes practical know-hows to reinvent online store, tips and insights to grow much faster by understanding what Lazada has to offer such as free shipping, RM9.90 All In deals, LazCoins, Sponsored Solutions, FlexiCombo, Add-On Deals and more as well as discover new ways to meet every buyer’s needs,” he emphasised.
Towards the end of his speech, he reaffirmed that Lazada was, is and will always be committed to grow the industry in the long term together with all the sellers.
Then, the one-day event began with presentations and sharing by Lazada’s Top Sellers, Certified Trainers, Seller Ambassadors and internal experts including the COO of Lazada Malaysia, Darren Rajaratnam. In Darren’s session, he gave a detailed presentation on Marketplace Highlights which described what had happened since the last Masterclass in July and what will happen in Lazada in order to keep moving forward together.
Most topics that were presented touched mainly on growth, traffic booster and pricing strategies for low price assortment which included a panel sharing of real-life case studies. Additionally, a session of Mega Campaign Hacks was initiated to give sellers some tips and tricks on how to tackle sales during the upcoming 11.11 and 12.12 Mega Sale.
On the same day and in conjunction with the launch of a series called “Seller Stories”, one of Lazada’s Preferred Seller, Yi Thing of The Fisherman 76 Resources along with her sister made an appearance at Masterclass 8. She was the first seller to be featured in the series on how she decided to continue her family’s legacy in selling dried seafood by commercialising the products on the Lazada platform. Last but not least, no Masterclass will end without a lucky draw and a bonus Best-Dressed competition. Winners stood a chance to win great prizes such as a pair of Westlife concert tickets, the latest iPhone 14, ads credit and Lazada shopping vouchers. Each attendee also got to bring home a Lazzie plush toy thereafter.
What sets Masterclass 8 apart was that the attendees who are also sellers on Lazada had the opportunity to meet their Key Account Manager (KAM) as well as the Lazada team. They were able to have exclusive face-to-face consultations, discussions or even just a casual conversation with the team.
